Minutes of meeting of the Dundalk Cycling Alliance

1/Attendance
Fiona, Ollan, Tony, Pat, Nadia and Liam with apologies from Garret and Mary.
2/Minutes.
Fiona proposed and Nadia seconded the adoption of the minutes of the last meeting that were adopted and signed by Liam.
3/Matters Arising
Liam and Nadia gave a report on their visit with Ollan to the Argus.
Liam gave a report on the Transport and Strategic Policy Committee. This body is a subcommittee of the Louth Co. Council. And Liam is now a member of it on behalf of the environmental interest. Tony said that Sustrans should be represented on the committee.
4/Correspondence.
There was no correspondence.
5/Finance
There have been no changes to the finance this month.
6/Website.
The handover of the website is planned for next week.
7/Dundalk Cycle Lanes
Ollan will prepare a document for the Minister who will be meeting people displeased with the cycle lanes. Liam, Nadia and Fiona will present this document to the minister.
8/Cooley Cycle Lanes
Pat and Nadia will approach some people with a view to setting up a subcommittee to press for cycle lanes in Cooley.
9/ Publicity
Nadia read two emails she sent to the local media on cycle lanes in Dundalk.
8/AOB
Nadia presented a submission on future action by the DCA. This will be on the next agenda of the June meeting.
The meeting thanked Mr Peter Fitzpatrick on his recent press release on health and asked Liam and Nadia and Fiona to convey the feelings of the meeting to Mr Fitzpatrick T.D.
10/Next Meeting
The next meeting will be held in Liam’s house from 8:00 to 9:30 on Wednesday 6th June 2012.
