Minutes of meeting of the Dundalk Cycling Alliance
6th June 2012
1/Attendance
Fiona, Ollan, Tony, Pat, Nadia and Liam with apologies from Garret and Mary.
2/Minutes.
Tony proposed and Pat seconded the adoption of the minutes of the last meeting that were adopted and signed by Liam.
3/Matters Arising
Fiona reported on the meeting of herself, Liam and Mr Peter Fitzpatrick T.D.
4/Correspondence.
There was no correspondence.
5/Finance
There have been no changes to the finance this month.
6/Website.
Tony gave a report on the website and on his activities in relation to it during the month. Liam thanked Tony on behalf of the DCA for all the work that he did in relation to the website.
7/Dundalk Cycle Lanes
Nadia said that her contribution to the site against cycle lanes are no longer being accepted. She will send pictures to the media counteracting the adverse publicity to cycle lanes.
Tony will write to the media on the dangers posed to him as a cyclist by the absence of segregated cycle lanes.
Nadia will study the viability of a face book page on behalf of cycle lanes.
8/Cooley Cycle Lanes
Liam reported on his representations to the Dundalk Chamber of Commerce, and their decision to write to the County Council in support of cycle lanes in Cooley.
A list of potential members of a subcommittee to promote the cycle lane project in Cooley was drawn up.
9/Nadia’s Submission
Nadia’s submission will be on the agenda for the July 2012 meeting.
10/Next Meeting
The next meeting will be held in Liam’s house from 8:00 to 9:30 on Wednesday 25th July 2012.
