Minutes of the meeting of the Dundalk Cycling Alliance

9^th Apr 2014

1/         Attendance

Liam, Tony, Fiona, Pat and Ollan with apologies from Nadia.

2/         Minutes

The minutes of the 5^th March 2014 meeting were read. Ollan proposed and Tony seconded their adoption. They were duly adopted and signed.

3/         Matters arising

• Liam proposed and Pat seconded that Fiona and Ollan represent the DCA at a seminar in Dublin. The Seminar is about the funding cycling projects. There is an evening talk after the seminar, which Fiona and Ollan will also attend.

 

4/         Website

Tony said that there were no changes to the website.

 

5/         Finance

There were no changes to the finances.

 

6/         Signage

Tony will soon be able to commence work on a map of the Dundalk Cycle Lanes.

 

7/         Cycle Routes

            Pat outlined two cycle routes he had drawn up. One was of 10km in length and the other of 50km. Liam and Pat will take these to Bord Fáilte as an example and ask them to reproduce a set of them professionally similar to the ones that they currently produce for walking routes in County Louth. A vote of thanks to Pat was passed.

 

8/         Access to Parks

Ollan will put a proposal to the subcommittee on which he sits to permit restricted access to the parks in Dundalk.

 

9/         AOB

Tony said that the cycling infrastructure in Stapleton place has been upgraded and is now excellent.

 

10/       Next meeting

The next meeting will be held on Wednesday 28^th May 2014 in Liam’s home from 20:00 to 21:30 hrs.
