Letter to Editor – Health Hazards

During July 2017 the DCA wrote 3 different letters to the 3 editors of the main papers in Dundalk. Here is a sample:

Re Health Hazards

Dear Sir

According to the New Scientist (May 2017), 200,000 Americans die each year as a result of breathing air contaminated by fumes . Most of these fumes come from cars. On a lesser scale the same thing must be happening in Dundalk.

The only way to reduce car us in Dundalk is to make cycling safer. This can best be done by extending the town’s cycle way network until we reach the level found in Norway, Sweden, Denmark, The Netherlands, Austria and Germany.
