2/         Minutes:

  • The minutes of the 3rd December 2025 meeting were read and adopted.

3/         Matters arising:

Sean clarified a matter from the minutes.

4/         Correspondence:

  • Ollan received an email asking him to join the St. Patricks Day parade in Drogheda and on his recumbent bicycle. The members asked him to do so, and he agreed.

5/         Finance:

  • The meeting decided that the next payment for hosting the DCA Website should be paid as soon as the invoice was received.

6/         Great Eastern Greenway:       

  • Tony arranged for four members of the DCA to meet the Louth CoCo officials and consultants in the Millenium Centre in Dundalk on 10/2/2026.
  • Tony read the submission of Pat O’R. regarding the Dundalk to Carlingford Greenway which was favourably received by the members.

7/         Dundalk Cycle Lanes:

  • Tony summarised the relevant sections of the Louth CoCo monthly management report.
  • Tony also read Mariane Buttler’s email on the national reduction of funding for cycle lane development in 2026.
  • Liam agreed to write to the media linking the current flooding in part due to the lack of cycle lanes.

11/       A.O.B

  • Liam said that the DCA needed some new members.
  • Sean agreed to contact a recently retired doctor who was known to be an active cyclist.
  • Tony agreed to ask another recently retired person to join the group who due to his vast experience would be a great asset to the DCA.
